A catch-all mailbox is one that collects all the emails sent to nonexistent email addresses. For example, if your address is info@domain.com, but someone miswrites it and sends an email message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have created. Just one single mailbox per domain can have this feature activated and in this way you’ll never miss messages because the other side has an outdated address or has made a typographical error. The negative aspect of setting up a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving a lot of unsolicited messages, but this issue can be resolved by using an anti-spam filtering solution. It’s also essential to remember that a mailbox with an activated catch-all functionality cannot forward inbound email messages to a third-party address.

Catch-all Emails in Cloud Hosting

Setting up a catch-all e-mailbox will be extremely easy if you have a Linux cloud hosting with our company. You can enable this option through our powerful, albeit user-friendly Email Manager tool, which is an integral part of the Hepsia Control Panel, via which you will administer your hosting account. You’ll see all the email addresses that you have set up shown alphabetically and on the right side of each one there will be a small-size "Catch-all" icon, which will instantaneously notify you if a particular mailbox gets all the email messages for a certain domain name or not. With one single click on the icon you can enable or disable this option whenever you wish. In case there’s enabled email forwarding or in case some other mailbox has already been configured as a catch-all one for a certain domain, you will receive an alert from our system. The latter won’t deactivate/replace anything automatically and without your permission.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

The catch-all feature can be enabled without effort in case you have a semi-dedicated server account with us. All the email addresses that you have created with the domain names hosted in your semi-dedicated account will be displayed in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel and you’ll find a tiny button handily located right next to each of them. With only a click of the mouse, you can enable or disable the catch-all option for any mailbox of your desire provided that there isn't another mailbox under that same domain name with this option already enabled and there isn't activated email forwarding. Instead, you can right-click on an email address and activate the feature using the menu that will pop up. If any of the preconditions for setting up a catch-all mailbox is not fulfilled, our system will let you know, but will not deactivate or replace anything automatically.
